Greetings Wine Club, I am delighted to review this 2022 Matchbook Petite Sirah. My tasting notes: Aromas of ripe cherry and plum with a dry palate of black fruit and blueberry, black pepper and some complexity with secondary characteristics of oak and dark chocolate despite its youth (2022).Excellent value for quality at $6.99, sells elsewhere for $17.99. It is located on the middle and bottom of the wall, a few cases left! Check out my pairing with my Reuben sandwich and salad! The corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Rye bread and Thousand Island dressing, all from GO!

Check out the 2021 Three Finger Jack Old Vine Zinfandel. My tasting notes: aromas of strawberry and plum with a dry palate of raspberry, blackberry and oak, dark chocolate and a hint of smoke, leather (yes, this can be a descriptor!) and vanilla. This medium-bodied wine is earthy more than jammy and paired well with my “kitchen sink” (as in everything but) stew: grilled chicken, kale, can of mushroom soup, bell peppers, onion and garlic, yum! An excellent value at only $6.99, sells elsewhere for $20! We have a few cases on the wall and first “table.” Once again consider the full-bodied Volunteer Red blend or the Firestone Red Blend if this Zin happens to be gone (but it shouldn’t be).
